Christine Daae has a deep connection with the “Angel of Music”. As her father told her stories about this angel when she was little, her favorite story was that of Lotte, a little girl who was visited by the angel and who had a beautiful voice. Christine tells Raoul that she is going to visit her father's grave. They witness a violin performance by an invisible person, whom she believes to be the Angel of Music or her father's angel. The new owners of the opera house think they should take a look at the fifth box themselves. They saw something, but couldn't really understand it. They think they are hallucinating because they saw different things. Phantom claims war, but calls for a deal in a letter to managers. They do not accept the deal, but do the opposite of what the Ghost asks. At night, Christine sings for Raoul and makes him sad because he sees that she is not herself. Carlotta sings when suddenly she can't anymore. Moncharmin and Firmin, sitting in the fifth box, have the impression that there is someone else there. Carlotta continues to croak, the chandelier crashes to the ground, killing a woman. Christine suddenly left after the night of the chandelier crash. She is not found for two weeks; until Raoul discovers that she has been kidnapped by his “Angel of Music”. He sees her getting into a carriage with a ghostly male appearance. The opera organizes a masked ball every year. Christine comes with a man in a Red Death costume. Christine and Raoul escape together but only embark on their first fight. He has a confrontation with Red Death, who is presumed to be the Phantom. Christine returns from the Angel of Music, but does not answer any of the questions Raoul asks. He notices that on her left ring finger, she wears a simple gold ring. He wants the...... middle of paper ......gic. When they open the barrels, they realize that it is not wine, but gunpowder. Christine must decide whether she wants to marry the ghost or die there, at the Opera, with him. Erik says to move either the scorpion statue for a yes or the grasshopper statue for a no. He explains that the grasshopper does not turn but hops. The Persian thinks that if she moves the grasshopper it will trigger an explosion, but he also believes that the scorpion will kill everyone too. Christine moves the scorpion and the cellar in which Raoul and the Persian are located fills with water. The Count of Changy is found dead at the edge of the lake where the ghost lives. Raoul, Le Persan and Christine escape from the room. Erik is devastated and wants to be buried with the gold ring he gave Christine. The announcement that "Erik is dead" is out and they are burying him at the lake.
