Melanie Klein was born in Vienna, Austria on March 30, 1882. She became interested in psychoanalysis between 1910 and 1919. She is said to be a pioneer of analysis children and early childhood development. Mélanie began working as a psychoanalyst around the time of the First World War. In 1910, Klein and her family, which included a husband and two children (a daughter and a son), moved to Budapest. In 1912, she became a member of the Hungarian Psychoanalytic Society and began her analytical training with Sandor Fereczi. She then moved to Berlin and began working with Karl Abraham from 1924 to 1925. Although she spent more time with Fereczi than with Abraham, her work with Abraham is considered more important to his work.
