Cyberattacks and security are the biggest risk because the resulting losses could be catastrophic (Figure 1), and these attacks are much more common today ( figure 2). As a New York Times article points out, it's wise to transfer these risks through cyberattack insurance because a company like Microsoft can't entirely avoid this risk. Insuring all of these risks is difficult and expensive, especially for a company as large as Microsoft. Microsoft should therefore transfer as much as it reasonably can and seek to control losses for the rest through extensive cybersecurity measures (Perlroth and Harris). . The next risk for the company is project failure. Microsoft being as innovative as it is, it takes on many projects, and these projects can make a lot of money or lose a lot of money for the company. It is obviously important to avoid these projects that will cost the company dearly in terms of revenue through a thorough analysis of the project. However, it is impossible to avoid all projects, which is why Microsoft must conserve and control losses on projects that begin to fail by maintaining the possibility of abandoning a project or recovering the assets invested for another project.
