How it should be presented and when. Now information is easily accessible to almost everyone. The media have often been seen as the gatekeepers of information. This phrase described how the role of journalists has always been to keep an eye on the information and then report all the information to the people. However, it also gave the media the power to control what information they wanted out to the public. However, in recent times this power has shifted to the people. Journalists can no longer withhold information or not report certain events, people have unlimited means of accessing information and are not afraid to share it, in a way they have become "gatekeepers secondaryā€¯ information.
