  • Essay / A Career as a Cardiologist - 1295

I also try to talk to as many cardiologists as possible to ask for advice on what action to take. The most important step I took was trying to build a strong foundation in math and science. The reason I try to make these two areas my strongest areas is because they are used in every course I will be required to take for my major. They will also be used on a daily basis as a cardiologist because I should be able to prescribe medications to my patients and also know their side effects. In these subjects, I also took the most difficult classes, such as AP Biology and AP Statistics. These classes challenged me to work harder than the average student and have better balance when it comes to juggling my classes and other activities. Not only did I concentrate on all my classes, but I got a job because in college I will be working and I feel like if I start practicing now it will help me too. The job I got was working in a clinic, this helps me prepare for my career as I want to eventually open my own private practice and being in a clinical environment I will gain experiences.
