    Sontag-Qualifier EssaySusan Sontag's essay on how photography has limited people's understanding of the world has many interesting points that can be enjoyable while having few with which I I tend to disagree. Photography can be good and bad; it can open our minds to new cultures and experiences through its images. However, at the same time, it can limit our understanding of the world around us and the world surrounding the image it represents. Sontag asserts that the camera's rendering of reality must always hide more than it reveals. This may be true in some situations but does not necessarily apply to all. Sontag is correct in making this statement when you apply it as she did through her example of the Krupp Works photograph and how it only shows us a factory. When we look at this photograph, it doesn't tell us anything about Krupp Works. Without additional knowledge of the factory and temporal effects applied to the photograph, we are unable to understand what is happening inside the Krupp Works in its entirety. The photo only...
