Sam AllisonSenior ProjectKirchmyerApril 21, 2014The Importance of TreesTrees are one of the most important parts of the biosphere. They provide oxygen, which is one of the greatest producers of life. Humans live and struggle without oxygen every second of their lives. Not only do humans need oxygen to survive and thrive on Earth, but animals and other creatures on the planet also need it. Trees are an important part of all life and if they disappeared there would therefore be no life. Not only do trees create all forms of life, but they also create a beautiful environment for an area and create a comfortable, shady environment for all surrounding life. Even though trees seem to be everywhere you look, the planet loses billions and billions of them every year. Between three and six billion trees are lost each year (“How many trees are cut down each year? Rainforest Action Network Blog. Np, nd Web. April 10, 2014”). Thinking about this fact shows that planting a tree can make a bigger difference than you think. The biosphere is sufficiently larger than one might imagine. It could contain up to thirty million different species of animals, plants, fungi and all other organisms, given that the ocean covers seventy percent of them. Of the Earth and all its matter, scientists and oceanographers have explored and mapped only five percent. This astonishing fact shows us humans how little we all know about the biosphere. The life forms of the Earth's biosphere vary from animals, plants, fungi and various others. Of the thirty million different possible species of life forms, scientists have discovered only a small portion, more than a million. Each of these species needs trees. paper......gle tree, it would provide the earth with nearly two trillion pounds of oxygen. Not only that, but it would replace all the damage caused by deforestation. It is unrealistic to think that every person on Earth would come and plant a tree, but if one in a thousand people did so, it would make an unimaginable difference to the world we live in. Trees are great for many things. They are extremely useful for everyone. They give so much to people for nothing in return. A single tree can bring enormous benefits to the environment. They can provide a healthier environment, shade, comfort and a better environment for people and the atmosphere. They provide a beautiful setting and keep us shaded and comfortable. Not to mention that every piece of paper in the world is made from one. Trees are extremely important and an integral part of our daily lives.
