  • Essay / Jinnah is responsible for the partition of India

Jinnah's communal approach was instrumental in the formation of Pakistan. But was Jinnah solely responsible for the partition of India? There are many points of view on this issue. Some believe that Jinnah was solely responsible for the creation of Pakistan. It is stated that: Mohammad Ali Jinnah feared that Muslims would be excluded from prospects of advancement if they were ruled by a Hindu social organization. For this reason, he transformed the league into an instrument to unite Indian Muslims. He later became a leader of the Muslims and under his leadership the League passed the resolution to form a separate Muslim state in 1940. Although the Congress and the British opposed it, Jinnah led the movement with a such skill that he forced the Congress and the British to accept the partition of India.
