a) After Cliff Baxter committed suicide, a note was found. In the note to his family, he wrote with shame how he once took great pride in doing what was right. He wrote that pride was gone and he felt he could be of no use to his family. He expressed his love and asked for forgiveness from his family. I believe the film tried to make Baxter seem like the initial voice of morality who was transforming into a "corporate villain". Baxter committed suicide because he felt he was becoming greedy, dishonest, and going against his morals. Unlike the other Enron elites, he couldn't cope with the person he had become and his guilt took over his thoughts and he couldn't continue. b) I believe Enron's top executives, primarily Lay and Skilling, are primarily to blame. for the collapse of Enron. Lay and Skilling were surely capable of running an effective and efficient business, but they lacked self-control and let their greed get the best of them. They fostered a competitive environment that, a holdover from the mentality of the fittest, led employees to constantly worry about their situation....
