  • Essay / Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde Analysis of Duality - 2922

The duality of human nature is that human nature itself has two fundamental aspects. Many believe that an individual has a good and a bad side to him. Personally, I believe that there can be times when you feel a certain way by acting in a certain way. The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde speaks a little to this subject. This topic is important because it explains why an individual acts well or badly. In addition to this, the ego and the id are included in this short story. The id is the aggressive side of a person. We could say that the id is the bad side rather than the good. A well-known man, Sigmund Freud, studied the Ego, Superego and Id in an individual. The ego is the decision-making aspect of a person and, by definition, "Hyde is a destructive being who creates chaos in the city." The reason this happens is because he is seen as the duality, shadow, or other side of Dr. Jekyll. Hyde is the one who committed all the crimes. The story makes it seem like Jekyll has no control over Hyde. This is another thing that the story shows psychologically. The body is divided into two parts. One side is seen as the good one and the other as the bad side. Sometimes the evil side slowly takes over the good side until the good side no longer exists. This is shown in the story with Hyde taking control of Jekyll. I don't want to go off topic with this, but so you understand me clearly, I'm going to give an example with drugs. Drugs do exactly the same thing to the human body as a man's duality, according to this story, of course metaphorically speaking. . The drugs slowly take over your body and when you least expect it, you lose yourself. The effect these have on a human being can be dangerously negative. They can destroy you completely, just like Hyde almost destroyed Jekyll. Drugs change who you are after a while. They make you act, think, and speak differently, but not fluently. I guess we can think of the chemicals Dr. Jekyll used as the drugs that caused him to turn into Hyde at night. He is no longer himself by the time Hyde comes to live. Yes, even if Jekyll doesn't act, I consider my shadow to be evil too. Of course, as I've already discussed, I can make the decision to do this or not. The events in my life will not change who I am because I will not let that happen. There was a time when my duality wanted to get the better of me. I know I have a good side and a bad side, but I manage to let the good take over the bad, rather than the other way around. I believe what others believe, that every human being has two personalities within him. I completely agree with this. For those of you who disagree with this, don't you all get angry at some point? And of course, you can all be kind too. This is considered two personalities. The duality of human nature can be confusing to some people, but the main point people need to know is that an individual, including themselves, does not have just one personality. The example I use is Jekyll and Hyde. It's the same person with different personalities. One is good, Jekyll, and the other is bad, Hyde. Of course, the characters in the play don't know this, except for himself. At the beginning of the play, Jekyll almost gets caught by Utterson and another guy. After Hyde commits a crime, they see Hyde going into a house, and when Utterson and the other guy go to knock, Jekyll opens the door. Every time they ask about Hyde Jekyll, he denies knowing anything about him. This shows that Jekyll knows he is Hyde. That being said, Hyde takes the.
