Three of Erikson's psychosocial stages encompass infancy, adolescence, and late adulthood. Early childhood begins at birth and lasts one year. Social need during early childhood depends on the physical needs of the child. If parents and guardians respond to the child's needs, the child will develop a simple sense of trust. If parents do not respond to the child's needs, it will lead to distrust. Additionally, adolescence begins in your teens and lasts until your twenties. The social need in adolescence becomes identity. Teenagers have difficulty navigating this stage and sometimes become confused.
