The biology and psychology units work hand in hand to work well as a nurse. The subject knowledge from these units provides vital information to work well as a nurse, to have a good understanding of biological functions as well as to understand behavior in order to interact well with patients and their families. My experiences demonstrating effective communication with children and adults are very valuable because it is important to be able to communicate information to patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals. This is essential to providing the best patient care while working as part of a collaborative team. I am fully aware and understand that nursing will not be an easy task. It can seem difficult to work long hours, shifts and holidays; however, I view these aspects of the job as personal sacrifices that would demonstrate commitment and compassion. I would happily use the majority of my time to provide the best care to young children and their families.
