  • Essay / Queen Victoria - 1748

In 1837, Queen Victoria began her reign as Queen of England. She affected the entire world with the political decisions she made while she was queen. But those decisions were dictated by things that started the day she was born and even during her reign as queen. Many people don't know much about Queen Victoria and so may wonder why is your political leader worth studying? What has changed since she became queen? What led and motivated her to make the choices she did? All of these things can be determined by looking at her past life and that of her reign which affected the way she ruled. There are two parts that will be discussed in her life that affected her as a political leader. The first part should deal with his childhood and life stage aspects. The second part focuses on her later life, from the final years of her marriage until after her husband's death. Many things strongly dictate these two eras of his reign. Victoria was born in 1819 at Kensington Palace, London. His father was Edward Duke of Kent and his mother was Victoria Maria Louisa of Saxe-Coburg. After Victoria's birth, her father, Edward, died and she became heir to the throne. Since his three uncles had no legitimate children, they could line up to cast him. She is England's longest-reigning monarch and some might argue that she was England's last strongest monarch, but she was also a leading champion of educational reforms , social welfare and industry, as well as the arts and sciences. She truly redefined the definition of a queen and England and the world would be different without her. Victoria's early childhood was very sheltered and reserved, her best friends growing up were those of her nanny...... middle of paper ......ications of her political choices. And that’s why she deserves to be studied as a political leader who shaped the world. Works Cited “BBC – History – Queen Victoria”. BBC - Homepage. BBC. Internet.
