An important part of ancient Chinese civilization was that they shared a common origin older than any other ethnic group on Earth. China, mostly isolated and unknown to the outside world, was quietly progressing at a rate greater than or equal to that of other notable civilizations of the prehistoric world. China was made up of several dynasties. The dynastic cycle played a definitive role in the successions of Chinese empires. The successes and failures of each era influenced the next. The combined contributions of all regimes not only led to China's success and progress, but also defined it. Technological discoveries, inventions, creations and its ability to adapt contribute to its maturity. The evolution of ancient Chinese dynasties provided the cultural, economic and governmental structure that developed and made their country one of the wonders of ancient times. The governmental structure of Chinese dynasties evolved with each regime change. Even the title of king, as it was initially called, was replaced by that of emperor because it was not grand enough. Each dynasty had the king or emperor as the head of its government. They held supreme power over the country's economy, government, military, and religious beliefs. Empires used a centralized bureaucracy that exercised overall control over the country. They learned a lot from this form of government, each reign modified its structure accordingly, going from a very strict approach to an almost hands-off approach. It has not been replaced by any other form of government; it just evolved into what was appropriate for each period. It was the foundation of their civilization. History has revealed China's enduring legacy and perseverance in preserving its society. China's technological advancements have not only helped its nation and people, but also influenced the development of other countries.
