For this reason, it was very interesting to read since Capote used a lot of detail to describe the characterizations of Perry, Dick and Clutter's family and left out the details of the actual crime that will be committed in the near future. The way Capote describes the events causes the reader to form a mental picture and imagine the view. His approach creates a sense of curiosity and suspense in me and leaves me eager to learn more about the story despite the fact that I wasn't particularly interested in the book itself. I especially enjoy various applications of rhetorical strategies, but unfortunately the first section of the novel contained only a small explanation of the criminal events. As the story continues, the author begins to go into more detail about Dick and Perry's personal lives. The author portrayed Dick as an independent man, while Perry fell on hard times
