    As a future teacher, I want to be as fair as possible to my future students, regardless of their ethnicity, gender, or economic status. I grew up in an area where the majority of people were Hispanic, most of the students in schools were Hispanic, the second largest ethnicity where African Americans, but Hispanics, still dominate. Growing up in this rural area, you can see how discriminating it can be when it comes to academic opportunities for students. My high school was one of the larger HISD high schools, but it was known for its bad reputation. Before attending the Sam Houston Math Science Technology Center (MSTC). It was known simply as Sam Houston, the high school that had several fights every week, police officers everywhere, and lockdowns almost every other week. The school had to be closed, and when it changed its name to Sam Houston MSTC and was reopened, the nearest classroom was separated from the upper grades and created a nine-class center in the outer buildings while upper grades remained in the original building.
