  • Essay / The valid Resurrection who is Jesus - 1156

The valid Resurrection who is Jesus. If Jesus is not resurrected, everything about him is invalidated. Furthermore, it invalidates who we are as followers of Christ; The passage where this truth is emphasized more than any other is found in Paul's writing in 1 Corinthians 15:12-19: Now if Christ be preached that he was raised from the dead, how do some of you say- They say there is no resurrection? deaths? But if there is no resurrection of the dead, even Christ is not raised; and if Christ is not resurrected, then our preaching is in vain, your faith also is in vain. Moreover, we are even considered false witnesses of God, because we have testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead were not raised. For if the dead do not rise, Christ himself is not raised; and if Christ is not resurrected, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. we cannot validate what Jesus claimed about his person and his work. Why is this, because without the Resurrection, Christ's claims are absolutely invalidated by his own claims? Reese, in his book on First Corinthians, said: “If there is a fact to the contrary (dead bodies are not raised). Following Paul's presentation, we can see the essential character of the future resurrection, especially when we see what results from its refusal. . . . There would be the same difficulty in resurrecting him as would be encountered in resurrecting any other man. If no man can rise... middle of paper ......e and glorified (the story of the old, old story of Jesus and his love) is null and void: it is in vain if Christ did not rise again. However, if Jesus is resurrected, then everything we believe in is validated, our Christianity, our faith. We know that we can be resurrected and live again. We know that Jesus paid the consequences and that we can now live with God. We know that through the Resurrection He deserves to be honored, we know that a life lived in faith is the best way to live your life. We know that He has validated our hope for eternal life when He follows Him; the Resurrection of the One He claims to be. BibliographyCottrell, Jack. Faith Once For All: Today's Bible Doctrine.
