  • Essay / Robotics - 2076

Robotics will have a huge impact on the future of the human race. With daily technological advancements, robotics will make tremendous progress. Robotics will soon affect our health and the way daily tasks will be handled, but will advances in robotics one day lead to our downfall. With advances in programming and nanocircuitry, they are already affecting our health. With robotic surgeons, robotic prosthetics and robotic organs, and now even the occasional robotic doctor, the field of medicine has been mechanized. Normally, surgery would require hours, large incisions, months of recovery and carry human risks. But there's a new surgeon taking the world by storm. Robotic surgeries have become increasingly prevalent over the past decade. There are 2 general types of surgery: woundless surgery and minimally invasive surgery. Woundless surgery isn't truly woundless, but it requires much smaller incisions. Depending on the system used, there may be between two or three incisions (Michael 103-111). One is for a remote-controlled camera. The rest are for controllable medical tools, usually small hands or claw-like tools and small scissors. In this type of surgery, the camera and tools can be controlled either by human hands or by a robot. Robotic controls are preferred because human controls can be difficult for human hands and require infinite practice. With robotic controls, the doctor can sit in front of a monitor and control with a few buttons and a joystick. In both cases, the doctor sees what the tools are doing from a monitor that receives images from the camera. Woundless surgery is preferable to conventional surgery in several ways. Because woundless surgery requires smaller incisions, it also requires less healing time...... middle of paper ...... tons of data, seeing similar patterns and differences even when there are many similar patterns. But if AI truly becomes a reality, will it help or harm humanity. We cannot ignore that humans are imperfect. The intelligence that can access all the information on the Internet at will accepts our imperfection. Many theorists and authors do not think so. In past history, the strong prevailed over the weak and the weak disappeared. If a higher “intelligence” appears, it will most likely take over the human race (Wilson). Perhaps using our existing technology against us. The future is unpredictable. But we know that due to technological advancements, robotics will definitely have an effect on it. We are already seeing this in our health and in our daily lives, but will the effects be all good or will our downfall come from these advances in robots ?.
