  • Essay / Should same-sex marriage be legalized in all states?

Have you ever imagined how a person feels when they are told that they cannot spend the rest of their life with the person they love? One is completely in love and wants to get married because the law doesn't allow it. A person is denied the legal rights that come with marriage because they are in love with someone of the same sex. Unfortunately, these are some of the challenges faced by lesbian and gay partners in many countries. And the sad thing is that most of the arguments put forward for maintaining same-sex marriages are flawed and reactionary, and based on nothing other than ignorance, fear, prejudice and intolerance. Same-sex marriage is a marriage between people of the same sex. Same-sex marriages are currently illegal in the United States, with the exception of a few states. The illegality of same-sex marriages is wrong because it is a significant form of prejudice. Same-sex couples are not only denied their civil rights, but also their legal and economic benefits. No state should prohibit a person from showing love to another person based on their gender because: It violates the fundamental principles of the constitution. In the United States, more than 17 states have legalized same-sex marriage. Additionally, around 16 countries have also been able to legalize same-sex marriages. This is an incredible advancement as same-sex marriages have increased over the years. Individuals have the right to marry and marry their preferred partner. However, there is still opposition to same-sex marriage today from many groups around the world. The groups believe that same-sex marriages should be illegal and that: They are against the law and violate the institution of marriage. Furthermore, they argue that same-sex marriages are against the Bible...... middle of paper ...... and marriage is a legal union between two people who love each other and have mutual consent to each other marry.
