Do not read aloud, but rather find hidden themes, etc. in the texts. However, this course required reading and analyzing articles like Fallow's. This weakness made these writings somewhat difficult. I had to read and do a lot of research, but in doing so I learned the proper mechanics to accomplish such tasks. Now I feel confident putting the pieces together. I can more easily identify hidden themes and issues that authors include in their writing. This is a great skill to master, and I am very lucky to have such assignments that allow me to strengthen these weaknesses. Reading is not just about speaking, but also about finding ideas and making sense of the material presented. Reading is essential to the entire process because once familiar with proper reading techniques, one can also improve in other areas such as writing. Thanks to this course, my writing skills have also improved significantly. I noticed these changes after my reading improvements ended. The two go hand in hand and one improves, the other follows. At first, I was afraid to write. It is very difficult to write when English is not your native language. However, now I really enjoy writing and use it as a way to express my thoughts and ideas. Writing is one of the most important skills any student can possess. If you know how to write, you can change the world. I noticed in my early writing that I had many grammatical errors. However, these cases are now fewer. Which I am very proud to say. The grammar is very confusing, however, through revisions and critiques I learned where my common errors were mainly. It was fundamentally linked to time, to my mistakes, of course. I had difficulty deciphering which tense to use in sentences. However, I have improved considerably in such cases. I used an entirely new thought process with these improvements. I learned that sometimes criticism is necessary. I learned that we all have weaknesses and that these should not bring us down. I have definitely gained a more proactive attitude to improve things that I have struggled with for a long time. Before this change, I used to have a negative thought process. Whenever I faced something I struggled with, I immediately dreaded it. Now when I think negatively, I can immediately think about more positive aspects.
