Instant messaging is a tool that allows people to establish synchronous communication with each other. The purpose of this study is to discover users' influences on the use of instant messaging. In the technology acceptance model, key constructs are considered for technology adaptation such as perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use. The first aspect is the use of IM, including the activities people perform with IM, the routines they use, and collaboration. The second aspect concerns people's preferences, including people's perceived benefits of the app, problems they encounter, and how they handle problems. This study uses surveys as an evaluation method. The surveys include a consent form, a demographic information portion, and a question portion.
