When a person has surgery to improve their appearance, they are condemned and appear shallow or vain to others because appearance is so important to them. Children who see a parent or family member have surgery may develop a distorted view of their own body. Plastic surgery procedures can also affect people in the romantic aspect of their lives. Men may misinterpret a woman's motivations for having surgery; they might think it's to attract other men.
