As a nurse, our goal is to help the person adapt to the changes and challenges they may encounter. Using Roy's Coping Model, nurses can help understand the demands causing problems, how well the person is adapting to the problems, and help them develop effective coping skills. Roy's Coping Theory Sister Callista Roy developed the Coping Model of Nursing. Roy's adaptation model is one of the most useful conceptual frameworks focused on individual adaptation to a changing environment. Roy views the individual as a set of interdependent biological, psychological and social systems. The individual strives to maintain a balance between these systems and the outside world in order to be able to cope adequately. According to the model, adaptation is defined as the process and outcome in which thinking and feeling people use consciousness to create integration among human beings. perception and their environment. The main concepts of Roy's coping model are person, health, environment and nursing. Roy's model views the person as an open, adaptive system that uses adaptive abilities to cope with stressors and is in constant interaction with a changing environment.
