The information she gave me was quite disturbing and I was irritated by the treatment she received from her mother. Abby was born hearing impaired and had difficulty growing up because her mother had difficulties. She mentioned that her mother gave her hearing aids and called her remotely to find out if she could really hear him or not. She was dragged from doctor to doctor but the diagnosis remained the same. As she told the story, there was sadness on her face and I wanted to reach out and hug her, but I didn't know if that was appropriate. I signaled him to stop because it hurts him so much; Al mentioned that everything was fine, she'll be just fine. She told me that she had spent a year at Montclair State University and was going to pursue a degree in psychology, but she changed her mind and dropped out. She hopes to return later but doesn't know what field to get her degree in. I typed a message telling him that going back to school was a good idea, I would owe it to Al because I didn't want him to be left out of the conversations. Al got up and started dancing and he said it was because he was happy for her; we all laughed because Al is terrible
