Why We Can't Wait Thought PaperMartin Luther King Jr. was named Man of the Year and deserved his own celebration nationally, and at one time, many were considered criminals. “Why We Can't Wait” is a book written by Martin Luther King Jr. It sheds light on many things about his actions throughout his life and the reasoning behind those actions. This book has answered many questions, but three of the most important questions are: What key events gave rise to this proclamation? which were the Letters from Birmingham Jail and the March on Washington. Another question was what methods did the civil rights movement employ? The initial method was not physical but philosophical, Dr. King defined what a movement is and differentiated a movement from a revolt. And how did Dr. King justify his civil disobedience as a Christian? Which he justified by logic, reason and history. Opposed to justifying his actions with emotion, violence and malice. In the past, King's methods were considered controversial, but over time, Dr. King is no longer considered a criminal, but he is considered one of the most influential leaders of all time, this which should be the case. There was talk of many events that could be linked to the proclamation. But two of them stood out when Martin Luther King Jr. accepted his arrest and wrote Letters from Birmingham Jail. At the beginning of the book, he talked about MLK's actions before his arrest where he met 24 other close friends and allies. At that meeting, they discussed whether or not King should go to prison or stay out and continue trying to help from the outside. . At the end of the meeting, King said: “I don't know what's going to happen, I don't know where the money is going to come from. But I...... middle of paper...... the fact while thinking about society, "it was superbly practiced by the early Christians, who were prepared to face hungry lions and excruciating pain logs rather than submit to some unjust laws of the Roman Empire (96) Here, MLK makes the connection more relevant to the ordinary person, instead of emphasizing religious icons, he draws attention to the Christian. ordinary who disobeyed injustice even if the punishment was deadly." As stated earlier, King's methods were seen by many. like anything but good. But as time went by, MLK, everything he accomplished and strived for was seen as good, courageous, and many other qualities. After all his marches and speeches and strikes, and all the punishments he endured. Dr. King is considered one of the most influential leaders of all time and one of the best people to ever walk this earth..
