Selfies are basically photos taken with your phone's front camera, and people around the world have been taking them for years now. One of the saddest elements of these selfies is the lengths to which people will go to ridicule them. There are people who take selfies in all kinds of dangerous situations, and as such, there have been many reported cases where people have died while taking them. According to Cailey Rizzo, around 12 people died after taking a selfie between January and September 2015. In comparison, 8 people died due to shark attacks. This feeling has slowly become very dangerous and its numbers will likely only increase over time. It can also create a negative image of other teens among the adults who run these businesses, and other teens, who may not be as irresponsible, suffer. This can make it much harder for some teens to let go of these negative views, and it can make it harder for them to be seen as anything other than children by other adults. A simple solution to this problem would be for some teens to simply follow the rules and not use their phone when asked, but unfortunately this kind of thing is unavoidable. One of the most time-consuming aspects of having a smartphone is social media sites.
