There are more than 2,405,518,376 Internet users worldwide. More than 50% of the world experiences some form of internet censorship, and among these countries, China, North Korea, Iran and Vietnam impose heavy restrictions on their citizens. This recent topic has reached new heights in the United States with the increasing number of Internet accesses. More and more people are wondering if the Internet should be censored. Internet censorship is the control or removal of what can be accessed, published, or viewed on the Internet. It would affect everyone and me. I specifically use the Internet to read controversial opinions and other information that is ignored by the media or no longer circulated. Most of these sites would fall on the censorship blacklist. A small percentage of users post conspicuous messages, graphic material and links that infringe on copyright. Although inappropriate, this measure should not require internet censorship, as it goes against people's individual rights. Freedom of expression and the press will be restricted by the government. So much so that people would be afraid to speak out or spread information because they could be punished. Even if their opinion is wrong and malicious, it is still that person's opinion and they are entitled to it. The same can be said for the common good, everyone should be able to express their opinions without censorship, anywhere. Everyone should also have access to any information on the Internet. If someone is offended by what is said on the Internet, then they can remember not to visit the web page next time and hold themselves accountable. This article will examine the issue of Internet censorship as a violation of the individual rights of the American people, the common good, and the Constitution. Ma...... middle of paper ...... have jurisdiction over what can and can' we don't say. Most of the things that will be censored are hackers, crackers, trolls and bullies; not ordinary people expressing their opinions. Although many of these points are important, they can be easily resolved without affecting the common good. If your child doesn't listen he can or can't surf the internet. It is up to parents to remove their child's Internet privilege. Ditto when reading indecent messages from other users. No one forced them to read it, if they don't like the content of the website, stop visiting it or ignore other people's comments. Additionally, if developers do not want their product to be hacked, then they need to create more security measures for their product. The common good should not be punished because people are too lazy or weak to implement problem-solving skills to evaluate their problems..
