    In recent years, it has not been uncommon to hear about bullying. Unfortunately, harassment affects the lives of millions of people around the world. Some of these people were resolved through bullying, and many failed to achieve this and the effects were emotionally scarred. According to Dictionary.com, "A bully is a braggart, quarrelsome, and controlling person who usually harasses and intimidates smaller or weaker people." Based on the definition alone, there could be a time when anyone could look back on a time when they were in school and witnessed or experienced a bully. The remainder of this article will address the following: Description of key historical events and/or legal decisions that make bullying a major or significant problem in SHU. Discussion of social psychology concepts that were covered in the course and that relate to bullying. Analyze the challenges that individuals and law enforcement face when bullying occurs. Explain my agreement with the statements provided by the authors of the selected references. Explain my disagreement with the statements of the authors of the selected references. Recommend ways individuals can address bullying to help improve the social elements involved in bullying. Suggest ways that criminal justice actors (police, prosecutors and/or judges) should combat bullying. I believe that by increasing awareness through school programs, after-school programs, and community programs, children will begin to develop a healthier outlook on life and avoid feeling victimized or excluded..
