As a revolutionary, Eva Duarte Perón transformed the lives of the Argentine working class. Her influence in politics also shaped the way women were viewed in government. Eva was concerned about the well-being of the public, which motivated her to try to improve their daily lives. Juan Duarte, Eva's father, had two families: one with his legitimate wife and another with his mistress, Juana Ibarguren. Born on May 7, 1919, María Eva was the fifth child of Duarte's mistress, Juana. It was common knowledge that Juan Duarte had two families. For a time, he tried to divide his time equally between the two families. Eventually, he left his mistress and their children to fend for themselves. Duarte died in a car accident on January 8, 1926, when Eva was only six years old, and the illegitimate family was having financial difficulties because Duarte's legal wife had deprived them of any inheritance. The family then moved from Los Toldos, where Eva was born, to the nearby town of Junín, where there was a boarding house for which her mother was responsible. Eva decided to become an actress because she loved entertaining her family. At the age of sixteen, Eva left high school, her second year, and left to pursue her dream of becoming an actress, in Buenos Aires. After leaving for Buenos Aires, Eva quickly found work as an actress due to her charm and attractiveness. . At the age of sixteen, Eva's first role was in a play called La Mistress Pérez, in 1935. After that, she played small roles in low-budget films. Eva later found work in the growing radio drama industry. Eva always gave her all in every role she played and her enthusiasm made her popular among radio listeners. She improved the lives of Argentina's middle class by creating a foundation they could rely on. Eva was one of the most influential women in Argentine history.
