  • Essay / College is the gateway to success - 892

A thread is a theme or symbol common to several articles or sources. I analyzed the following three articles looking for a common thread, “College is a Waste of Time” by Dale Stephens, “Importance of a College Education” by Jeff McGuire, and finally “Why the Liberal Arts are important” by Michael S. Roth. After carefully analyzing the three articles, I chose “higher education is the gateway to success” as the axis. This is a recurring point in all three articles; Although not all opinions are the same, they are nonetheless correlated. To be successful requires a broad understanding of your field, to promote innovation as well as to develop intellectual strength and flexibility, allowing you to take advantage of your education and apply it to the job for which you are qualified . Nowadays, having a narrow education limits your abilities in an ever-changing job market. Whether or not to go to college is an important decision that should not be taken lightly. Stephens reported that the cost of tuition has increased 3.6 times compared to 20 years ago; And that's not all: student debt surpassed credit card debt in 2010, at more than a trillion dollars. This may scare prospective students, but does it outweigh the idea of generating a good income immediately upon graduation? This varies from student to student. If the student is dedicated enough, anything is possible. Stephens believed that if we focused on collaborative growth, sharing ideas, and, above all, promoting societal growth, we would naturally be more creative and innovative, because we would not regurgitate the same facts that have been written for years. You use experience to learn and use the app to better understand how...... middle of document ...... and McGuire focused on the importance of the university and its complex role in success in the workplace. I came to my own conclusion which was a mixture of different points from the three articles. In my eyes, the strand is precise. I consider higher education to be very important. Obtaining a higher education allows you to understand subjects holistically as well as learn the important skills of cultural understanding and ethical reasoning. I see education as more than a piece of paper, I see it as a resource that forever changes your life for the better. Works CitedMcGuire, Jeff. “Importance of college education. » Tips on articles.
