    The job of a knight was to defend his sovereign or lord at the cost of his life. They dedicated their lives to serving, protecting and fighting for their sovereign and lord. This was very dangerous work in medieval times. However, before they became full-fledged children, they left home to train very hard to become knights when they were older. “Around the age of 7, the sons were taken to another castle to be trained as pages. They spent their time becoming strong, riding horses and mastering the use of weapons” (Medieval Knights). It was a very difficult child to leave home for years and train to become a full-fledged.
