Essay / Comparison and Contrast Between Homeschooling and Public Schooling
When it comes to education, many have different opinions on how children should and should not be educated. A common debate concerns the effectiveness of homeschooling and whether or not homeschooling is better than public schooling. In some ways, homeschooled children and schooled children are quite similar. On the other hand, there are also several differences between these children and the way they are taught. Often, children schooled at home and in public schools are stereotyped. Most people will automatically label these children in their minds based on what they have heard about the type of education they are receiving. It is imperative to compare and contrast these educational methods to understand them better. There are few similarities between the education of home-schooled children and that of public-schooled children. However, I will still try to describe them as best I can, because it is important to consider all the facts when comparing and contrasting anything. This is particularly important when it comes to tackling a subject as widely debated as forms of education for young people. Even though the similarities are few, they still exist and they are important. First, all children receive instruction through textbooks, teachers, worksheets, or online materials, whether they study it at their kitchen table or at a desk in a classroom (except in the case where a child is “out of school”, which is not at all the same thing as home schooling). Children must also take annual standardized tests. In some cases, parents exclude their children from standardized tests, but this is not encouraged in any school system. Another similarity is that all children must have passed all required exams...... middle of paper... ...are present in both types of education systems. By keeping these facts in mind, we can determine which school system is ideal for certain children. Not all children will need the same things in their education. Some may need more time to complete their courses, which makes homeschooling ideal. However, some children may feel left out without their friends and will not be able to learn effectively without lots of interaction with their peers. Every child is unique in their learning preferences. That's why it's important to look at all the features of school systems before deciding which one is best for your family. It is very important not to judge the educational choices of others and to consider all the advantages and disadvantages of both school systems. Overall, both are designed to teach children basic skills that they will be able to apply in their lives as they grow in very different ways..
