  • Essay / Was Marie Antoinette a cause of the French Revolution...

Marie Antoinette was the Archduchess of Austria and became Dauphine of France after several years. Many French people hate her because of her behavior. Some citizens blamed him for being one of the causes of the French Revolution. Some said that it did not represent a serious problem for forming the French Revolution. There were also people who said that these behaviors came from Louis XVI or influenced by Marie Antoinette, and in fact he was one of the reasons that caused the French Revolution. So what is the truth as the cause of the French Revolution? Was it really a cause of the French Revolution? Marie Antoinette was born on November 2, 1755 at the Hofburg Palace in Vienna, Austria, to a wealthy family. She was one of fifteen children of Holy Roman Emperor Francis I and Empress Maria Theresa. She was the youngest girl but the second youngest child among these fifteen children. She lacked education and so her writing was not easy to understand. Instead of liberal arts classes, she was more interested in entertainment classes, so she was taught about dancing, music, manners, and appearance. With these entertainment classes, she learned them better than liberal arts classes. She also learned three languages, including Italian, French and German, as well as the history of Austria and France. But at the age of ten, she still had difficulty reading, writing and speaking. In 1765, Roman Emperor Francis I, his father, died of a stroke. He left Maria Theresa from her post and gave the throne to their eldest son, Emperor Joseph II. Due to this policy, it became obligatory for Marie Antoinette to marry Louis Auguste. His mother sent him to France and accepted this marriage. It was difficult to adjust...... middle of paper ......ult to choose her growing environment, and also she was influenced by Louis XVI, as I mentioned above. Marie Antoinette was simply considered a traitor, because she supported Austria instead. She will definitely support her brother, because he was her family. The French could not forgive him. After her marriage, she needed time to get used to her new life, but her husband didn't stop her from spending so much money, because he himself was doing it too, so their behaviors slowly became a cause of the French Revolution.http:/ /history.howstuffworks.com/historical-figures/top-5-marie-antoinette-scandals.htm http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1991-06-30/entertainment/9102270390_1_dauphin- carolly-erickson-empress-maria- Thérèse http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marie_Antoinette https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20091228192526AA9sXye http://bastille-day.com/biography /Marie Antoinette
