Implementation of EMR IIIThe EMR system provides adequate assistance and support to the clinician. This system reduces the risk of errors and increases the efficiency of research facilities. This document includes a summary of previous plans developed to implement these proposed changes. The effectiveness of these changes made, measurement strategies, costs and satisfaction with the implementation of the EMR system are points of analysis in this presentation. This Miami, Florida organization conducts research on the biotechnology industry. The upcoming clinical pharmacological tests in a patient with diseases accelerate the need for the EMR system in this research center. Certain financial problems, inadequate technical support and government requirements constitute organizational obstacles that affect the implementation of these changes. Individual barriers affect EMR system implementation as well as required staff training, resistance to change, and loss of status quo on the part of employees. EMR implementation should lead to improved patient safety and reduced medical errors. The competitive external environment requires in this organization the implementation of this system. To prepare for this process, the organization could develop goals, policies and hold several workshops to reach consensus on key deliverables. EMR implementation increases the optimization of clinical processes for standardization and efficiency of care delivery by this institution. The system allows the supplier to be involved in the development; adoption, acceptance and accountability of the care delivery process creates greater physician integration. Ultimately, patient safety increases and the organization gains reputation in the community (Synor, 2009).
