    The laboratory safety manager plays a very important role in the busyness of the facility. Site health, safety and security must always be a priority. In the case study, Renee faces many different problems within her company, Best Pet Test, Inc. The company deals with blood and urine samples and uses PCR as one of his techniques. Renee must invest in failures and offer suggestions on how to improve the state of the company. The company had a lot of problems. Harold, the processor didn't keep accurate records. There was no indication of how the business operated. The samples were not correctly labeled. The samples were labeled with barcodes so they could be tracked. However, for the past year, the barcode reader has been broken. Thus, the blood samples were labeled manually. This was evident because real-time PCR testing for the presence of bacterial pathogens from the dog samples was inconsistent. Often, lab workers could also be seen in lab coats outside the lab. This was incorrect because personal protective clothing should be thrown away after use. The company also had chemicals in unlabeled bottles, as well as overflowing sharps containers. Worse still, laboratory waste was discovered in an abandoned quarry. Due to the negligence of her colleagues, Renée must now develop a business continuity plan. In this plan, she does not forget to focus on site safety and security, hazardous waste management and hazardous waste training. When developing a training guide for the company, it should include all the basic information necessary for proper laboratory care.
