In "A Modest Proposal", Swift uses parody to mock the people and children of Ireland, describing children as delicious foods to eat. » A child who has just left his mother can be supported by her milk for a solar year with little food. "(p. 623) In this satire, the author explains that a child will be born and will feed on its mother's milk, but this milk will not be abundant because the mother is malnourished. Resolving the problem of the sad plight of Poverty-stricken Irish, who spend their lives searching for food to feed their families. Swift developed a plan to benefit the rich, using the poor. Even if the Irish are the enemy, it is better to have a few of them to help advance the economy and the countryside. This is also ironic because the writer doesn't even accept that the concept of eating one year olds is morally wrong. “If I can make you laugh with me, you like me better, which makes you more open to my ideas. And if I can persuade you to laugh at what I say while laughing, that recognizes its truth.” - John Cleese (Brainy Quote) Satire opens people's minds to new ideas that they might reject, using humor This proposition would not work in modern society because eating children is not at all moral or moral. politically correct, but it's funny http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aF8wLg5Asgo Works cited http://art-bin.com/art/omodest.html https://www.google.com /#q=satire%20definitionhttp:/ /www.youtube.com/watch?v=aF8wLg5Asgo
