Video games are commonly referred to as games that you play for fun or as a hobby, but what if that fun could become your profession. Most video games started as arcade games played to achieve the highest score. People played with a “handful of quarters” each day in an attempt to reach the top of the scoreboard. A great example of someone who is well known on the high score table is Billy Mitchell. Video games are supposed to be played from home, relaxing on a couch with friends. And it does, and it's fun. But in competitive gaming, when you want to attach your name to a world record, when you want your name written in history, you have to play. the price."Video games are no longer played just for fun, but are also becoming a new way to make money. A very famous player of First Player Shooter (FPS) games, Optic Nadeshot, sponsored by Redbull, was interviewed about his sponsor. He said he plays video games for about eight to ten hours every day. People suspect that the growth of this competitive scene is due to the gambling aspect of gaming. In 1994, Kiplinger's letter to Washington stated: "Gaming will be the fastest growing industry of the 1990s." This statement is completely true and applies to competitive gaming as well. Once you enter the world of competitive gaming, it's almost impossible to get out. The competitive video gaming industry is booming, but it is now at its peak.
