  • Essay / Transitioning from High School to College Writing

I had already learned and used the writing process and found it very useful, especially this semester in EN101. This has helped me because I tend to ramble in my writing when I'm passionate about a subject; Additionally, the writing process helps me organize my thoughts and formulate my essay before writing it. Another tip learned in EN101 is to always make changes and revisions. Something I've learned about myself as a writer is that when I have a lot to say about a topic, I tend to go too far to the point that my essay no longer has any meaning. sense. To solve this problem, I always have to re-read what my essay says and make sure the reader will understand it. The revision process improved my writing because the very first time I edited and revised my essay in this course, I caught many errors that would have resulted in points if I had not caught them. Now I'm able to check for mistakes I know I'm making and correct them as I write so there are fewer mistakes to correct when I revise and edit. These strategies help me improve my papers because when writing, I don't always see the mistakes I make. Making edits and revisions helps me see these mistakes and I will use these strategies in college because it's a tactic that doesn't take long, but it lasts a long time.
