Essay / State of Saudi Arabia - 1476
Located in the Middle East, the culture of Saudi Arabia is strongly influenced by Islam. The faith of the people guides them and their opinions; this, in turn, has caused many problems for people whom their religion does not favor. Like those who are not in religion, and women. Their culture is extremely oppressive, and if someone does not realize how Saudi culture works, they will find themselves and their lives under threat. The police are often quick and brutal; and many people who speak out are quickly silenced. There are many reasons why we should turn our gaze to the Muslim country. In Saudi Arabia, women have few or no rights and are often mistreated. Treated like animals, these people hide behind the fact that they are doing nothing wrong. They just say, “Women like it” or “It’s part of our culture, who are you to judge?” When in reality, these are just excuses used to cover up the sad truth of what is happening, the oppression of women. Another reason why people need to be more aware of what is happening in the country is the government's willingness to carry out public executions. Not only is it inhumane, but the very reasons for these executions are confusing. Some people are killed simply because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time or because they did not have a clear idea of the country's culture. Furthermore, the means they use to execute people are by no means painless. Without even bothering to use modern execution methods. Finally, the Saudi people do not enjoy certain basic rights that we, as Americans, take for granted. The right to public speech is a common fundamental right that is often violated by the Saudi government. Obviously, it is obvious that Saudi Arabia is hateful... middle of paper ......, there are other Islamic cultures in other countries that do not deny their people human rights fundamental, but massacre them. insane, and accuse them of some of the strangest crimes. Fortunately, there are people working tirelessly to do what is right and change the world. Works Cited Bowman, Dylan. “Saudi women deprived of their basic human rights.” Arab affairs.
