    Imagine playing basketball. You play as hard as you can and your team is so close to winning. You go up to make a basket and out of nowhere, another player hits you. You hit the ground and your leg instantly hurts and it's difficult to walk. You have torn your anterior cruciate ligament, more commonly known as ACL, and require surgery. After the operation, the road to recovery is long. You will need to see a physical therapist several times a week to work on your repaired ligament. After delving deeper into the career, one may decide to pursue a career in physical therapy because of the responsibilities of the job, the necessary education and training, and the post-retirement benefits. What is a physiotherapist? A physical therapist, also known as a physical therapist, is a person who helps patients suffering from injury or illness restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, improve balance, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities in daily life. There are over 8 different types of physiotherapy. Orthopedic medicine deals with bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. Sports medicine helps injured athletes and helps them recover quickly and effectively. They also teach athletes how to protect themselves from other injuries. Neurology deals with the structure and function of the nervous system. Common neurological problems are spinal cord injuries caused by stroke and Alzheimer's disease. Cardiopulmonary medicine involves the blood vessels and the heart. These therapists help patients achieve a level of endurance and independence after surgery. Electrophysiology is how electricity interacts with cells and tissues. These electrical currents help reduce pain, inflammation, and maintain blood circulation...... middle of paper ...... The degree you would need is an associate degree. Instead of completing six or more years of school, one could do two and make a career.
