Fad diets are unhealthy. Some people believe that fad diets work. Fad diets are becoming more and more popular in the weight loss market. In today's society, people should be more informed about these diets before using them and these fad diets should be prescribed to a qualified patient by a health care physician or to severely obese people who need lose weight quickly to help them improve their health. Trendy dietary supplements are wrong because they do not provide any nutrients to the body and people need to know that they need healthy nutrients to lose weight healthily. Because these diets are not nutritious for the body, many people harm their bodies simply by taking these pills. Not all fad diets are suitable for everyone. Many people are quick to believe that these dietary supplements will reduce their waste and quickly lose those extra pounds just because of the advertising. There are many problems with fad diets. These diets should not be sold without a prescription due to lack of knowledge about these diets, health risks, false advertising, and abuse. Studies prove that these diets are aimed at short-term weight loss and do not work in the long term. A study also proved that citizens who use these fad diets will lose weight but eventually return to their original weight within three years. “Fad diets” is a term used in popular media, not science. There is no standard definition of what a fad diet is. Fad diets claim to be scientific but do not follow the scientific method to establish their validity. Dietary supplements or diet plans whose inventor of the diet guarantees that their product will quickly lose those extra pounds, yes, it seems like a good deal, but is it healthy? Some fad diets endorse...... middle of paper ...... certain dietary supplements intended for people eligible to use a dietary supplement. So why are many diet products still sold without a prescription? These trendy supplements are always sold without a prescription because they are intended for people who want to try these diets and see if they work. Furthermore, they are still being sold because their advertising misleads customers into believing that if they want to lose those few extra pounds they cannot get rid of them. Fad diets don't work for these people. There is great debate over whether these fad diets should only be prescribed. If these diets were to be prescribed only by doctors to patients with weight problems, many supplement companies would suffer and jobs would be lost. However, if dietary supplements were only prescribed by doctors, many people would not put their health at risk by using over-the-counter diet products...
