  • Essay / Poetry Quote: Experience of inhaling, exhaling...

Since this poem is so short, everything stood out, but each line for its own little reason. The poem begins, “He comes blundering over the rocks at night.” This makes me think that not only does poetry go through mistakes, but perhaps much more. For example, things like memories, stories, feelings of happiness, sadness, anger or everything in between. The next line says “He stays scared outside the range of my campfire.” At first I only thought about what was outside a fire (animals), but then about the writing process. Which led me to perhaps bring up memories or experiences that stand out more than others, but still need help. The ideas are a little too timid to take hold or establish themselves without help or molding. Then the last line of the poem says "I go to meet him at the edge of the light", leaving me thinking about helping these hidden ideas and transforming them into something beautiful in itself. With not only words to tell a story, but also images that thrill our minds, our senses and our emotions at the same time. Create a unique work of art that we can read and share with those around us
