''A Threat from the Ku Klux Klan''Even before the early 1920s, whites had always been aggressive toward African Americans, but never to the point of aggression as happened in the 1920s. In the 1920s, a group of men got together and decided to start a group called the Ku Klux Klan. Their main goal was to prevent African Americans from being respected by others or even gaining their rights. At first the group started as the man who came together in the group, but over time they gained a lot of power and that's when they came back to life and reached their full potential. At the time, many African Americans were killed and humiliated by the Ku Klux Klan and sometimes whites joined them or simply thought that what the Ku Klux Klan did was right because they considered African Americans as “minuses”. There is ample evidence that members left photos, letters, notes and many other things that tell you one way or another what and how they threatened African-Americans. Americans. Over the years, the Ku Klux Klan organization began to threaten African Americans for wanting to be counted and part of this country. A perfect example of this is the letter sent to Davie Jeems by a member of the Ku Klux Klan. The letter demonstrates how frightening and simple the members were during this time. Davie Jeems was an African American elected sheriff in Georgia. Since the members of the Ku Klux Klan saw this as a disgrace to the country, they sent Jeems this threatening letter which practically said that he was there to remind Jeems and other radicals where their true place was and that if he didn't stop, he would leave. to kill him. The letter even has the word "Notice" at the top and holes on the side of the paper......in the middle of the paper......nty. In the cartoon we can see that the family is at the bottom and the Ku Klux Klan and other unions are holding hands, and that's because they are the ones who are going to make the decision on what is going to happen to the family. By the cartoon and what it reflects we can see that the KKK and other people failed to see that what they did to black families was wrong and that those in power today were the famous and terrorizing the Ku Klux Klan. Many other examples like this show us how violent and direct the organization was, but these examples give us an example that shows us what others thought of them and what they thought of themselves- same. At the time we know that other people were too afraid to do anything that was going to help the Africans and others joined them and that's what made the rise of the Ku Klux Klan so strong in the years 1920..
