Violence has been a negative factor in society throughout history. Many researchers believe that the use of violent media, particularly video games, plays a significant role in the downward trend in youth behavior and attitudes, and that this behavior continues to spiral out of control. However, other researchers believe that because violence has existed since the dawn of time, adolescents are just as capable of violence today as they were a thousand years ago. Research has been shown to link maladaptive violent behavior to video game use, but other researchers believe the results do not match the results because the results are often skewed. Meta-analyses have statistically proven that violent video games have a negative effect on youth behavior, but due to the combination of meta-analyses, the results tend to be distorted and the results communicate a more vigorous result. Television, computers, and movies are another source of media violence available to adolescents. They can be just as harmful or more harmful than video games, especially if the user already has a tendency to be violent and/or is raised in an atmosphere conducive to violence and other risk factors are also present . Violence will continue to occupy a significant place in our society. However, with newer and improved technology, we could eventually develop advanced research that could inconceivably prove the culprit of our violent tendencies and the true motivations for our violent behaviors. Young people who are already at risk of committing a crime are more likely to respond to violence they have witnessed in the media than children who have a strong foundation. Violence will always be part of society. However, with increased technology and better research, we may be able to more accurately identify its origin and guide our young people in a different, more positive direction...
