  • Essay / Homeschooling Persuasive Essay - 1084

Homeschooled students are able to engage in many types of real-world learning experiences that are not easily accessible to other students; volunteering, working under mentors in areas of interest, and participating in field trips during regular school terms. These students bring a wealth of diversity to the activities in which they participate. They bring with them personality, character, opinions and different points of view when interacting with others. Educators at the state level must recognize that including homeschooled students in extracurricular activities would not detract from those activities but would add another dimension to the group. Diversity is welcomed in our society as a positive thing and therefore allowing diversity within extracurricular activities would also be a good thing.
