    For effective education, creativity must be present in all aspects of a primary classroom. So what does it mean to be “creative”? According to Sir Ken Robinson, “Creativity is the process of having original ideas that have value.” Creativity can be demonstrated through the use of technology, problem-solving experiences, and giving children the freedom to explore and express new ideas. It is very important to ensure that a child can benefit from the best creative education; indeed, creativity will provide the skills necessary for our future. Children need to become creative problem solvers if they are in leadership positions as this will help them in society. Although not all children are in a leadership position, it is beneficial for them to have a creative mindset. Because the world we live in is constantly developing new ideas, concepts and technologies, creativity is certainly the most important quality a child can have. The views of Sir Ken Robinson (an international education advisor) on creativity in education will be discussed as well as the views of New Labour, which includes the National Advisory Committee on Creative and Cultural Education (NACCCE) . The 1977 White Paper, the Open Plan for Schools and the 2003 Excellence and Enjoyment Strategy concepts will also be used. To begin with, Sir Ken Robinson states that "creativity is the greatest gift of human intelligence" and while the education system should therefore help children realize their creative potential, unfortunately many are deprived of their true talents. Formal instruction and inquiry-based learning are essential to creative education. There are times when it is appropriate for the teacher to provide formal instruction in......workplace skills......and numeracy, but the white paper recognizes that this would not be enough to meet the challenges of education. It was stated that success in the 21st century would require doing more than just improving numeracy and reading and writing skills; education should be motivating, flexible and broad so that children's different talents are recognized. Former MP Tony Blair said "our aim must be to create a nation where the creative talents of all are used to build a truly entrepreneurial economy for the 21st century – where we compete on brains, not brawn." ". Children will learn to use their initiative in all aspects of primary education, developing their social and cognitive skills. A child should and must be given the opportunity to build on the knowledge they already have to give them the best chance in the future..
