    The author reveals many tactics used by the government to drive out the homeless. One tactic is to use the bathroom, everyone should use the bathroom several times a day. That being said, “at Penn Station, fifteen blocks away, homeless women are denied access to restrooms” (Jonathan 277). When homeless people are denied access to toilets, they have no choice but to use them outside, having nothing to properly clean themselves with. Not being able to clean yourself properly also leads to illness and hygiene problems. When we think of a normal person, we tend to think that they will have good hygiene and take care of themselves; there are homeless people who want to swim, but are refused access. The second tactic the government uses is to cut off the homeless people's food source so they have no reason to go out. Jonathan informs the user that the government is trying to stop places from handing out food because it only attracts more hungry families and scares people in public. The goal of getting rid of the homeless has caused the government to take extreme measures to eliminate them. It is obvious that the government will do everything to get rid of them, even if it leads to them being treated like animals. “A city council member proposed spraying trash cans with rat poison to discourage foraging by homeless families” (Jonathan 279).
