Needs assessment is also important for police officers because it tells them the needs within the community based on the gap between the current outcome and the desired outcomes (Watkins et al., 2012: p. 19) and how stakeholders can invent programs that police officers can implement. to help keep the community safe, reduce crime prevention and monitor the community (NSW Police, 2015). 4.2 Community Safety Neighborhood Committees NSW Police (2015) has a program called Community Safety Neighborhood Committees (CSPC), which is a needs assessment program. CSPCs enable local stakeholders to come together with the community, local businesses and local police to discuss and discuss strategies designed to tackle local crime (NSW Police, 2015). Programs like these are important to police because they show them where improvements are needed in the community and what areas of police need. This also allows the community to have a say with stakeholders on the needs needed within the community.. 5.1
