    The Constitution of the United States was drafted in 1787 at the Constitutional Convention, where it was held in Philadelphia. It was written by a group of people known as the "Farmers" or "Founding Fathers", and some of the most famous Founding Fathers were George Washington (the first President of the United States), Thomas Jefferson (the first vice president and the third president of the United States) James Madison (the fourth president of the United States), Samuel Adams and Benjamin Franklin. The old government, the Articles of Confederation were not working as they were supposed to be, they were vulnerable and could not secure and defend the newly born nation and it is for this reason that the Constitution of the United States was seen the light of day. The Constitution is the highest law of the land. In the United States, all other laws form the constitution in some way, it explains the fundamental structure of government and how the different branches of government interact with each other, showing the limitations of each branch. However, to fully understand the United States Constitution, which may seem ambiguous to many people, we must be familiar with the three different branches of government, namely the legislative, executive, and judicial. Each of these branches is described in the first three articles of the constitution. The founding fathers of the constitution did not want one man to have all the authority and that is why this separation was made. However, these three branches complement each other. In other words, each of them has its own responsibilities but always linked to the other branches of government. The Farmers did not see the importance of having a bill of rights, but in order for the constitution to pass, promises were made to add it once the new government was established. The Constitution of the United States is the heart of this nation and the reason for its prosperity. It shows the competence of each part, branch and partition of the government while setting the rules for government officials..
