I believe that CLT has not led the way in improving the approaches and methods of CLT. The concept of CLT has development and function in the 21st century. Other approaches and methods have developed. However, I believe that CLT has become the main focus of teaching English as a second language. The main objective that I consider important and that CLT proposes is the development of communication. CLT concepts focus on student needs and individual factors. It advocates several principles of language learning opposed to an artificial learning theory such as ALM. As CLT draws on multiple teaching methods, CLT has become an approach rather than a method of teaching the English language. This factor alone shows the importance of CLT. The main focus of CLT is diplomacy and the importance of communication in relation to linguistic structure. The focus is on active learners and functional learning relates to a focused structure.
